The Galactic Guardian Patrol, at the request of the Galactic Federation, placed Earth under surveillance. The Guardian Patrol deployed numerous satellites to accomplish this. Members of the Galactic Federation friendly to Earth report that the Guardian Patrol is notorious for its parsimonious nature. They indicate that the cheapest satellites will be deployed first. But they warn that if deployed Sentinels are damaged the Guardian Patrol will upgrade the Guardian Patrol Sentinel (GPS) satellites with more robust models requiring more power and precision to damage.

The Hundred Zeros research and development corporation has deployed energy beam weapons that can damage the GPS satellites. Android phones can track the Sentinels, control the weapons, and damage the satellites.

All Android phone owners are called upon to combat this invasion of Earth’s privacy by zapping these Sentinels.

Directions

Once the targeting application is started the Sentinels are tracked automatically. Their real-time position, in elevation and azimuth, is listed to the right of the tracking display. As Sentinels are damaged they are removed from the list. The energy beam is triggered by pressing either the camera button, the center button in the directional keypad, or the trackball, depending on the features of the phone. The beam can be seen firing in the center of the cross-hairs.

A Sentinel is targeted by rotating the phone to the Sentinel’s azimuth and tipping the phone up to the Sentinel’s elevation. Triggering the energy beam when properly centered in the cross-hairs will damage the Sentinel.

The tracking display shows compass direction, the azimuth, at the bottom and the elevation at the left side.

WARNING – BE CAREFUL WITH TARGETTING MOVEMENTS. WORK IN AN AREA CLEAR OF OBSTACLES. BE AWARE OF PEOPLE AND THINGS THAT MAY MOVE INTO YOUR WORKING AREA.

As a set of Sentinels is destroyed a new one is deployed with advanced features. These may include better shielding requiring a more focused energy beam which necessitates a smaller targeting area or a command and control capability that requires a specific order of damage. Other unknown features may require experimentation.

Hint: Frustration may be reduced by selecting Menu | Restart which provides a new, perhaps easier, challenge.
